To reach Oak Mountain Winery one must proceed up a long winding driveway that leads to the top of a hill. Do yourself a favor and take the trip up that driveway. If you do, you'll be rewarded with some of the mosts spectacular views and the finest wines in the region. A secluded gem, Oak Mountain features a spacious barrel/tasting room and the large outdoor "Vista Pavilion" which is a perfect setting for a wedding or any special event. The "Vista Pavilion", a spacious covered patio area, is aptly named as it commands sweeping panoramic views of the vine covered hillsides and the picturesque mountains beyond. After a long day I headed up there with my chief camera assistant to sample some of their wines. All were top rate with their "Field Blend" a particular favorite. Owners Stephen and Valerie Andrews offer wines from both of their wineries (Temecula Hills and Oak Mountain) which are operated under one roof, something also unique for Temecula.
